Comments policy

This is largely a technical blog, and I welcome questions and comments on the technical matters explored here. A wide range of comments are most welcome:
  • questions seeking to better understand what I have done or why I approached a problem in a particular manner
  • comments on the technical elements of posts - we all learn from testing our ideas with others
  • suggestions for new modes of analysis - I am always keen to explore new ways for slicing and dicing the data
  • pointers to the ways in which others have tackled the matter explored in the blog - I am keen to see whether the analysis of others is consistent or inconsistent with the approach I have taken
  • factual and mathematical corrections - I make mistakes from time-to-time and sometimes I just get things plain wrong. I am happy to make corrections when I become aware of my errors
  • well argued and informed disagreement - don't just tell me that I am wrong, explain why I am wrong and what I need to do to fix things
If you chose to make a comment, you are expected to:
  • write clearly and concisely
  • be civil and courteous to others
  • be positive and constructive in your approach
  • be on topic to the post where you are commenting
  • make comments in good faith without the intent to deceive
  • refrain from repetition, sloganeering and dogpiling
  • refrain from offensive language (such as swearing, racism, sexism, antisemitism and homophobia)
  • refrain from offensive behaviour (such as name calling, personal attacks, bullying, harassment, trolling and cyber stalking)
  • No advertising, marketing, etc.

Comments that don't meet this policy will be deleted.
